welcome!

Welcome to our first ever SEND A MUG!  Send a mug.  Get a mug :)  Last year I participated in a mug swap that was SO much fun!  After signing up, I was assigned a random participant who would receive a mug (of my choice) in the mail and I would also be shipped a mug from a totally different person.  I shopped at one of my favorite antique stores and found a pair of mugs that I fell in love with (you only need to send one) then sent them off to my new friend.  She loved them and the two of us have kept in touch via Instagram throughout the year! I was looking forward to signing up again this year but spots were limited and filled up in just a few hours before my friends and I could join.  Bummer.  So… I'm organizing one myself so YOU can be a part! :)  I think you’ll love it.

By signing up, you are agreeing to send one mug of your choice to your assigned recipient by Saturday, August 30th.  I would encourage you to add some other fun goodies or even a handwritten note to the package – this is certainly not required but it is a fun way to make your package personal and extra special.  Please wrap your mug really well to be sure it will not break during shipping.  And I would also encourage you to do a little non-creepy social media “stalking” to find out some info about your assigned person ;)  It helps when picking out a mug!  Signups will close on Friday, August 8th at midnight.  And you will receive an email with your assigned person and their info by the following Friday.  You can scroll to the bottom of this post to sign up now or read through the details and FAQs below if you have more questions.  Have fun!



STEP 1. SIGN UP to send and receive a mug using the form below.

STEP 2. INVITE other friends who may also be interested! You can save and use the image in the top right for Instagram, Facebook, email, etc. or create one of your own :)

STEP 3. FIND OUT your assigned recipient on or before August 15th.
If you haven’t heard from me by then please email sendamug@gmail.com

STEP 4. SEND one mug on or before Saturday, August 30th.
That should give you at least two weeks to shop for your mug.
Once again, please wrap your mug really well when shipping.

STEP 5. TELL US what you got!  You can use #sendamug for your pictures :)
Post pictures on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram so we can see your new mug.
If possible, you can tag your sender so they know you have received it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How much will this cost?
It is totally free to sign up and participate.  You will need to cover the cost of shipping with the USPS but it is up to you what you would like to spend on the mug and any package contents.  You can get creative and shop thrift stores or your grandma’s china cabinet :)  And maybe include a handwritten note or goody to make it extra thoughtful.

2. Do I receive a mug from the same person I am sending a mug?
You don’t!  You will be sending to your assigned person and someone totally different will be sending a mug to you.  So you could potentially make two new pen pal friends :) It’s fun to keep it a secret until they actually receive your mug gift.  Be sure to tell them who you are inside your package so the recipient can contact you and/or say thank you.

3. What if I don’t get an email with my assigned person?
If you have not received an email by end of day Friday, August 15th then please email me at sendamug@gmail.com.  Maybe check your spam folder first to be sure it didn’t end up there :)  The first time I participated I was assigned one of my close friends just by coincidence!  So I requested someone else.  If you already know the person assigned to you just let me know and I’ll be happy to make a switch.

4. What if I never received my mug?
If you still haven’t received your mug by the second week of September please send me an email at sendamug@gmail.com and I can look into it.  Or if you had a problem with the mug you received you’re welcome to let me know via email as well.  Please don’t complain about your mug on social media.  That would be kinda lame.

5. What if I signed up but can no longer participate?
Things happen.  Don't feel bad if you have to back out for a personal reason. But PLEASE let me know so someone doesn't miss out on a mug :)  If you can no longer send a mug to your assigned person, please email me by August 15th at sendamug@gmail.com.

6. Will you be doing this again next year?
I hope so!  If you enjoy it as much as I have I think you’ll want to do it again too :)
